Kelly Hollar 

Kelly’s musical journey began at the age of seven when he enrolled in piano lessons. Two years after beginning piano, he picked up his first acoustic guitar. An electric guitar soon followed. Kelly joined a church worship team in middle school and played in various worship teams through high school. After graduation, he enrolled in the piano studio at Appalachian State University. It was during this time that he joined his first rock band. Since that time Kelly has been a member of projects in genres ranging from polished synth pop to 90s inspired alternative rock to experimental chamber music. 

 

Kelly discovered very early that while learning songs is essential to growing as a musician, writing and contributing to originals is where his true passion lies. The development of theoretical and technical understandings of the music he enjoys is an important part of his creative practice. Outside of music, Kelly enjoys reading, visiting the beach, and playing the occasional game of chess.
